DVFR Intern Program
Your training doesn't end at graduation. The Dammeron Valley Fire & Rescue Intern Program is the bridge between the academy and a career in the fire service. Interns work alongside our career staff on real emergency calls, gaining the hands-on experience that turns a certification into a career.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Put your academy skills to work in real-world situations
- Take part in ongoing department training and drills
- Learn apparatus, equipment, and station operations
- Build the teamwork, judgment, and professionalism hiring departments are seeking

Interns work shifts each month with DVFR crews and receive a stipend for their time. As an Intern, you'll work to complete a Task Book demonstrating your experience and competency. You'll be mentored by career firefighters and officers who provide coaching and feedback along the way.
