The State of Utah Department of Natural Resources and Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands have issued a Fire Restriction Order (Stage 1) for all of Washington County, which includes all of Dammeron Valley. The Order, which goes into effect on Wednesday 26 May, is an effort to prevent the ignition of forest and rangeland fires. Details regarding the Order and restrictions can be found here:
While these restrictions do not go into effect until 26 May, DVFR recommends all residents in our service area adopt the measures immediately. As Southern Utah continues to experience dry conditions, we ask everyone in the community to continue to be vigilant in preparing homes and properties for potential wildfire threats. This includes clearing and maintaining adequate defensible space around homes, establishing a plan for evacuation in the event of a fire, and staying connected for emergency alerts and notifications.
