Dammeron Valley Fire Special Services District (DVFSSD) Control Board is seeking to establish an Internal Audit Committee (IAC) composed of three Dammeron Valley residents. The IAC’s responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Review of monthly and annual DVFSSD financials for accuracy
Review of DVFSSD accounting processes for accuracy and efficiency
Become familiar with Utah State Auditor guidelines and requirements
Audit DVFSSD for compliance with State Auditor requirements
Provide suggestions for best practices, improvements, policies and procedures, etc.
It is anticipated that service on the IAC will be a two-year commitment and will require several hours of work, on average, each week during the first three months, after which the time needed to complete the work will likely decrease to a few hours per month. The IAC is expected to begin their work in October, 2021, and will report to the DVFSSD Control Board on a regular basis, most likely quarterly.
The DVFSSD Board is interested in applicants with some or all of the following experience:
15 years or more of professional accounting experience CPA
5 years or more of recent professional accounting experience with government agencies
20 years or more as a business owner with at least 20 employees
Applicants must be able to read and understand financial statements, understand how to conduct an audit, and have a working knowledge of standard accounting principles and controls.
