DVFR is pleased to invite everyone in Dammeron Valley to participate in our 2nd annual Wildfire Community Prep Day sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association and State Farm.
Since we’re all “stuck” in the Valley due to the Ironman, let’s make the most of it and get our properties ready for wildfire season. We’re focusing on creating a 5-foot defensible space around homes and buildings, and we’re even playing matchmaker! You can visit www.dvfirerescue.org/wildfire to request help on your project or sign up to help others, then we’ll do our best to make the perfect match.
After a day of cleaning things up, join us at Station 13 and Dammeron Valley Community Park to learn more about how you can prepare for the upcoming wildfire season. DVFSSD will cook up some burgers and dogs, and we ask everyone to bring their favorite side-dish or dessert to share. We’ll even provide some live music!
We will also be honoring retired DVFR Fire Chief Chet Barnes for his service to Dammeron Valley and recognizing our annual DVFR volunteer member award recipients. So, join us as we express our gratitude to Chief Barnes and all our volunteers, enjoy some great food and music, and spend time in the company of friends and neighbors.
